What is The Downtown DIY?
The Downtown DIY is an all inclusive, creative studio offering hands-on workshops, classes, and private events.
Do I need to be “crafty” to attend a workshop?
Not at all! Most workshops are beginner-friendly (unless otherwise stated) and guided step-by-step. We provide instruction, materials, and encouragement — you just bring yourself and a willingness to create.
Can two people share one ticket and work on the same project?
We totally understand wanting to create together, especially with friends or kids. However, each participant must have their own registration and seat. Sharing a project under one ticket isn’t something we’re able to accommodate, as it impacts materials and the overall class experience for everyone.
Can I bring food or drinks?
Food & drinks are always welcome (even boozy ones). Some events include refreshments — check the event description for details.
What’s included in the workshop price?
All supplies, tools, instruction, and use of our studio materials are included. We've even got a fridge full of drinks & some snacks that our guests are welcome to.
Do you have walk-in or open studio hours?
At this time, we do not offer walk-in or open studio hours. The Downtown DIY is open by reservation only for scheduled workshops and private events. This allows us to fully prepare materials and give each group the best possible experience.
Is tipping expected?
Tipping is never expected, but always appreciated. Our workshop pricing is designed to fully cover instruction, materials, and the experience.
If you feel your instructor went above and beyond and you’d like to show appreciation, tips are welcome and go directly to the instructor.
Can I take photos during the workshop?
Absolutely! We love seeing your creations shared. Tag us on social media so we can celebrate your work too!
What time should I arrive?
Please arrive 5–10 minutes early to check in and get settled so we can start on time.
Where do I park?
We have a full parking lot right in front of our studio.
What is your cancellation or refund policy?
Due to preparation and supply costs, tickets are non-refundable unless the event is canceled by The Downtown DIY. If you’re unable to attend, tickets may be transferred to another person unless otherwise stated.
Do we have to clean up after our workshop?
Nope! One of the best parts of coming to The Downtown DIY is that you get to create without worrying about the mess.
Just like at a restaurant — you enjoy the experience, and we take care of the cleanup. When the workshop ends, you’re free to admire your work and head out while we handle the rest.
Do you host private parties or group events?
Yes! We host birthday parties, girls’ nights, team-building events, and more. Private events are fully customized — reach out to us directly for availability and details.
Is there a minimum for private events?
There is! Private events are subject to a minimum spend, and pricing is based on the project selected and number of guests.
For specific details and availability, we invite you to reach out.
Can my private event include multiple projects?
Absolutely! Some groups choose to do more than one craft. When adding projects, event length and pricing will increase accordingly.
Are kids allowed?
Some workshops are family-friendly or even kid specific, while others are designed for adults. We ask that (unless otherwise stated) guests meet our studio age minimum of 14 years old. Children must attend with a parent or guardian when required. If your child doesn't meet the age minimum, but you feel they're a good fit — feel free to message us.
Can I stay with my child during their class?
Yes, you’re absolutely welcome to stay.
For classes designed for younger children, we’ll note in the event description if parent assistance is required and encouraged. Outside of those, we kindly ask that participation is reserved for registered guests only so every guest has the same experience.
